NBC Late Night host Seth Meyers welcomed election delegitimizer Stacey Abrams onto his show early Wednesday morning to promote her new novel While Justice Sleeps, but in-between talk about the book the two naturally accused Republicans of voter suppression.

Meyers kicked off the segment by congratulating Abrams on getting two Democrats elected to the Senate in Georgia, “Last time you were here, it was right before the run-offs in Georgia, both the candidates you were supporting won and we talked about you sleeping and I was wondering if you managed to take a celebratory nap at the end of those run-off elections.”

Abrams claimed she did, “but I woke up to voter suppression coming back in force so I may not take another nap for a while.”

To which Meyers was very appreciative, “You’re a very busy person and while we greatly appreciate your efforts in trying to stop the tide of voter suppression laws that are obviously a huge problem right now.”

Meyers then shifted the conversation to the book, which, thank goodness, is not another romance novel. After a lengthy conversation about the book and writing process, he returned to alleged voter suppression, “Can you tell us any reason not to be pessimistic about and depressed about how effectively Republican state legislatures seem to be passing voter suppression bills.”

After decrying Georgia’s new law as somehow comparable to Jim Crow, Abrams noted that, “I think we should be concerned, we should pay attention but we’ve also been very effective, we’ve seen some of the worst pieces come out of those bills and even though they continue to pass, more and more people are aware.”

She then promoted the Democrats’ federal takeover of elections: “We still have time for Congress to take action. The Senate’s working on it right now and I believe we can actually have democracy that’s free and fair and accessible to all, so I’m going to keep pushing.”

The media’s hypocritical love for Stacey Abrams shows no sign of dissipating, as the NBCUniversal-owned production company Working Title Television has already purchased the rights to adapt While Justice Sleeps.

This segment was sponsored by Allstate.

SETH MEYERS: Last time you were here, it was right before the run-offs in Georgia, both the candidates you were supporting won and we talked about you sleeping and I was wondering if you managed to take a celebratory nap at the end of those run-off elections

STACEY ABRAMS: I did indeed, but I woke up to voter suppression coming back in force so I may not take another nap for a while.

MEYERS: You’re a very busy person and while we greatly appreciate your efforts in trying to stop the tide of voter suppression laws that are obviously a huge problem right now, you also have time to write books. This is very exciting, this is not your first novel, but it is your first novel with your actual name on it, you’ve written under a pen name before, I’m wondering, obviously you knew you were the author of those books was it different writing a book knowing that everyone who picked it would know it was written by the Stacey Abrams.
