‘Grow a Pair!’ ‘View’ Trashes VP’s Staff for Complaining About Her

‘grow-a-pair!’-‘view’-trashes-vp’s-staff-for-complaining-about-her

While journalists ignored the brutal expose, The View co-hosts on Thursday leapt to Kamala Harris’s defense, after current and former aides complained about an abusive workplace to Politico.

Despite cheering on the “whistleblowers” in the Trump White House, the liberal hosts completely trashed the anonymous complaints from twenty two of Harris’s current and former staff saying things like they felt they were “treated like s—.”

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg repeatedly downplayed the report as petty complaints. She asked co-host Sunny Hostin, “Is it possible that this is the — the functioning of politics or is it just, you know, come on and get with the program young folks? Is it me being an old lady going, ‘get off my lawn?’”

Hostin was upset at the leakers, suggesting they were sexist and racist:

I just hate the fact this is coming from inside our Vice President’s house, right? You have current aides and former aides talking like this. I think that this has a lot to do with yes, this is just politics, but this also has a lot to do with the fact that she’s a woman of color, and a woman because we know that things that are acceptable for men are not acceptable from women.

Like Hostin, Sara Haines was also upset by internal leaks that could damage Harris. “I was waiting when I saw the headlines on these articles for some big bombshell, like, I was a little scared because I’m a Kamala fan. I was, like, uh-oh, and I was reading and I’m, like, what’s the point of this article?” she scoffed, calling it a big “nothingburger.”

Meghan McCain agreed with Hostin that there was probably some “gender bias.”  She brutally mocked whoever the anonymous leakers were for “running to Politico like a little bitch.” At least McCain is consistent in her hatred for leakers in both Republican and Democrat administrations, unlike her co-hosts.

Spurred on by the common consensus, Goldberg got more bold in mocking the anonymous staffers. She asked Joy Behar, “So Joy, is it time for us to say, ‘hey, grow a pair?’”

As you might expect, Behar had the most ridiculous response to the expose. She suggested it was a set up from the right-wing, who apparently attack Harris way more than they attack Biden because the president “looks like their base.” Clearly she doesn’t read conservative media outlets very often.

Even more hilarious, Behar claimed that two negative stories about Harris in six months’ time was excessive. Maybe someone needs to remind her how many Trump and Pence had by this point:

You know, there’s something about this story that doesn’t pass the smell test for me. I mean, this is the second big story about Kamala Harris, and negative. The first was at the border, and now this. She’s only been in the job for six months. Joe Biden was working in congress for 40 years before he became vice president, and, you know, what’s interesting is that this will be used by the right wing to attack the Biden administration, and isn’t it interesting that they go after a black woman? They don’t go after a white guy Joe Biden as much because Joe Biden looks like the base on the right. He looks like them. So it’s hard for them to, like, get mad at him because then they get mad at themselves, you see? Something, like, psychological is going on there, and uh, so she doesn’t look like the base. So it’s easy to go after her. So I don’t put much — much stake in this. I don’t think this article means much. It’s meaningless, and Politico is, you know, they pretty much turn — go right. So I don’t trust it, and like everybody said, if you have a gripe with your boss, you don’t go leaking it to the press. Something else is going on here. Somebody else leaked this to hurt her. That’s what I think.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: I mean, I think there’s something they’re missing here, Sunny. Is it possible that this is the — the functioning of politics or is it just, you know, come on and get with the program young folks? Is it me being an old lady going, get off my lawn? What is it?

[laughter]

SUNNY HOSTIN: Yeah. You know, what — this reminds me of that movie “When a stranger calls” when she gets the call and they’re, like, get out of the house. The call is coming from inside of the house. Maybe she’s, you know, running a tight ship. Maybe she is expecting a lot from the people that work for her. Tina Flournoy has been a longtime democratic operative. She was — she worked with president Clinton’s white house as well as on Clinton’s re-election campaign. She worked on vice president Al Gore’s 2000 campaign. She’s part of a very informal though, group of black women who have worked together for decades in democratic politics. So the fact that this is being done is really disheartening, but not unexpected.

GOLDBERG: Right. Right. Meghan, when you look at this, is it politics? Is it what happens when a bunch of folks get together and say, why didn’t she tell me this was happening or how come I didn’t know? Is she supposed to be your best friend if she’s your boss?

MEGHAN MCCAIN: ….Working in politics is not for the weak of heart. Working for the vice president of the United States of America is not for the weak of heart. Whoever is running to Politico like a little bitch because they have a problem is just doing themselves a disservice, and ultimately, I don’t understand staff who don’t protect their principle. It’s in your best interest for her to look good ad by the way, she is the first woman of color as a vice president, and I agree some of the comments on here at least in the article seem a little gender biased and you’re right, as I said before,  I don’t think people would be talking about her in the same way if she were a man, and it’s just bad all the way around….

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Yeah. Sara, do you think there’s anything to be said to these

folks who are working? Is there something you can say to them you think that would make them catch onto the fact that this is their job? She’s not there to be your friend, if she doesn’t call you and tell you that the meeting is tomorrow, maybe your boss should have called. What do you think? Too much?

SARA HAINES: …I was waiting when I saw the headlines on these articles for some big bombshell, like, I was a little scared because I’m a Kamala fan. I was, like, uh-oh, and I reading and I’m, like, what’s the point of this article? It started talking about miscommunication in an office. I’m, like, have you worked in offices before? Communication sucks. So like that’s a common problem…

GOLDBERG: So Joy, is it time for us to say, hey. Grow a pair!

BEHAR: You know, there’s something about this story that doesn’t pass the smell test for me. I mean, this is the second big story about Kamala Harris, and negative. The first was at the border, and now this. She’s only been in the job for six months.
