Ron Paul, a former congressman from Texas, is speaking out after YouTube the Ron Paul Institute channel.

“Very shocked that @YouTube has completely removed the Channel of my Ron Paul Institute: no warning, no strikes, no evidence,” he tweeted. “Only explanation was “severe or repeated violations of our community guidelines.” Channel is rarely used. The appeal was automatically rejected. Help?”

A message from YouTube says the channel was removed permanently.

“We have permanently removed your channel from YouTube,” the platform said. “Going forward, you won’t be able to access, possess, or create any other YouTube channels.”

In a follow-up tweet, Paul called the removal “perplexing.”

“The Ron Paul Institute’s YouTube account has been terminated,” he said. “It is a seldom-used account and its termination is perplexing.”

Twitter users slammed YouTube for the move.

“1984 is here,” one user tweeted.

Others told Paul to join Rumble, a popular YouTube alternative.

Earlier in the year, YouTube suspended Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN) and removed the videos of former President Donald Trump’s rallies.

YouTube said the channel violated the platform’s Community Guidelines, and that it removes content that “take[s] advantage of the YouTube community” prohibits content where the “main purpose is to trick others into leaving YouTube for another site.”
