Univision: Don’t Blame Illegals Blowing Off Their Notices To Appear, Blame ICE!

univision:-don’t-blame-illegals-blowing-off-their-notices-to-appear,-blame-ice!

An alarming number – roughly half –  of undocumented immigrants released into the U.S. by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from March to August of 2021, didn´t show up for their deportation proceedings. But for Univision anchor Patricia Janiot, the only downside of the disquieting revelation appears to be how it´s “ammunition” for those who oppose Biden´s free-for-all open borders.

This bit of activism passing for news aired during the late-night edition of Univision News and portrays the delinquent immigrants as completely lost and confused individuals who are not to be blamed; the numbers, however, confirm the extent of the Biden-Harris immigration disaster, and garnered attention only after U.S. Senator Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin presented a report to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Watch as Janiot appears to absolve those breaking the law, while reporter Claudia Uceda makes a call to action to the evaders, in what comes across as a 1-800 ad:

PATRICIA JANIOT: Speaking of immigration, a new report is a dream for critics of President Joe Biden’s immigration policy. The report indicates that just under half of the undocumented people released after seeking asylum at the border did not attend their immigration hearings, as required by law. However, some activists believe that the intention of these undocumented immigrants is not to hide from the immigration radar.

CLAUDIA UCEDA: ICE declined to comment on these figures, nor on the reasons behind them. They only indicated that undocumented immigrants who have problems with their appointments can call 1-888-351-4024.

The report featured an activist immigration lawyer making excuses for the no-showers; among them, that the offices are closed when they go there, that they call and no one answers the phone -the day´s feed for the usual immigration sob-story, this time arguing that 47,000 persons that crossed the border illegally, and now hide from the law, “do not seek to disappear, but rather face challenges.”

The data was provided by Johnson, after Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas failed to answer his questions during the committee’s hearing on the subject last September.

Now it remains to be seen just how many of the 50K Uceda is able to persuade to come out of the haze.

Univision News: Evening Edition

January 12, 2022

PATRICIA JANIOT: Speaking of immigration, a new report is a dream for critics of President Joe Biden’s immigration policy. The report indicates that just under half of the undocumented people released after seeking asylum at the border did not attend their immigration hearings, as required by law. However, some activists believe that the intention of these undocumented immigrants is not to hide from the immigration radar. Claudia Uceda has the numbers and some facts on this subject.

CLAUDIA UCEDA: 47,000 undocumented immigrants released by the Joe Biden administration last year did not show up for ICE, Republican Ron Johnson reported. The Department of Homeland Security informed the senator that between March and August of last year more than 104,000 undocumented immigrants were released with notices to report to ICE, but only more than 49,000 of them complied with showing up at Immigration, while the other 47,000 did not. Undocumented immigrants released after illegally crossing  the border must report to ICE, up to 60 days after their release. This immigration attorney says that many immigrants do not seek to disappear, but rather face challenges.

LOUIS PAOLI, IMMIGRATION LAWYER: Most of them, and I see it every day, I have personal experience with that, most of these people go to the ICE office, as cited, they go to the ICE office and the office, or it’s closed or there’s an announcement saying (appointments) been canceled because of COVID.

UCEDA: Those who defend immigrants indicate that in some cases the undocumented are told to return in two weeks, they are given a phone number but nobody answers.

PAOLI: That phone, you call in two weeks, nobody answers. So we have a person who entered the United States, to a system they don’t know, completely lost, confused.

UCEDA: ICE declined to comment on these figures, nor on the reasons behind them. They only said that undocumented immigrants who have problems with their appointments can call 1-888-351-4024. From Washington, Claudia Uceda, Univision.
