Joe Scarborough Tries to Put Lipstick on Pig of Biden’s First Year

Biden sycophant Joe Scarborough broke out the world’s largest lipstick on Wednesday’s Morning Joe, and labored mightily to apply it to the pig of Biden’s first year of office.

Protesting too much, Scarborough claimed he wasn’t trying “to help Joe Biden.” Right. The video tells a very different story. A frenzied Scarborough waxed ecstatic, remaining in virtually non-stop shout mode as he extolled Biden’s record. He began by claiming that Biden’s first year was so good, if Trump had had it, “it’s all we’d be hearing about.”

Of course, there was no entirely getting around Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. So Scarborough did briefly acknowledge that, but then promptly transitioned to praising the airlift operation.

Mika Brzezinski chimed in to say that Biden’s performance in Afghanistan has been “mangled” in “certain areas of the media.” She huffed that Afghanistan is “being treated like Benghazi.” Actually, judged by the number of American lives lost and the damage to America’s reputation around the world, Afghanistan was much worse than Benghazi.

Politico‘s Sam Stein discussed new “alarming” polling showing that Americans are grading Biden horribly: “…a lot of people gave him Fs. On the issue of unity, he got an F by 40% of the public on that grade.”

Scarborough tried to shrug off Biden’s disastrous polling, saying, “we’ve got a long way to go.” In fact, we’re well less than a year away from the 2022 midterms. And Biden’s overwhelming unpopularity is a millstone around Democrat necks, threatening to sweep them out of their control of the House and Senate.

On Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough’s toadying attempt to defend Joe Biden’s failed first year in office was sponsored in part by GlaxoSmithKline, maker of Nucala, Jeep, and LifeLock

Here’s the transcript.

Morning Joe

JOE SCARBOROUGH: One year into the Biden administration, you know, I look at how Donald Trump and other Republicans brag about the things they do. And then I look at how Democrats have been wringing their hands for a year, for a year.

If Donald Trump had the record that Joe Biden had in his first year, my God, it’s all we’d be hearing about.

We could put a list out there like every president, there have been first year problems. But you have a $2 trillion — let’s say it again, a $2 trillion Covid relief package. You had a $2 trillion infrastructure bill. A bipartisan infrastructure bill, a record-setting infrastructure bill. You had an unprecedented vaccine rollout. Well over 200 million people have been fully vaccinated in this country. More federal judges appointed.

By the way, these aren’t talking points. This is reality. And I’m not saying this to help Joe Biden. I’m saying this to say bad Democrats are at playing the game of politics.

And I could go on. There are so many things that this guy did. Afghanistan, yes, the first couple of days, a disaster. And we lost Marines. That’s heartbreaking. At the same time, we airlifted more people out of that country, the greatest airlift of all time.

The United States of America has exported more vaccines to more countries across the globe than all other countries in the world combined.

There is a good record that Democrats should be talking about. And instead, all they’re doing is whining about what they haven’t accomplished yet.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: I completely agree with you on the messaging on Afghanistan. I think the president has been doing that. I have heard him talking about Afghanistan very clearly.

But in some areas of the media, that story gets mangled. That story comes out very — it’s being treated like Benghazi.

Sam Stein, this morning, Politico and Morning Consult has new polling out on Biden’s first year. What does it tell us?

SAM STEIN: What we found was a little bit alarming for Biden. Which is, a lot of people gave him Fs. On the issue of unity, he got an F by 40% of the public on that grade.

SCARBOROUGH: Yeah, these grades, not great right now. But given everything, putting it in perspective, Sam, we’ve got a long way to go.

What do you think?
